Bauchi state governor Senator Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir has reiterated his commitment to boosting the state’s economy through industrial development, with a focus on providing job opportunities to citizens, particularly youth and women.
The Governor Bala made this known while receiving the management of Resident Cement Company Ltd, accompanied by the state Hon. Commissioner of Natural Resources, Hon. Mohammed Maiwada Bello.
“This investment reflects a significant vote of confidence in Bauchi State. As the 4th most investment-friendly state, we are committed to fostering an environment conducive to all forms of investment.
Governor Mohammed expressed appreciation for the initiative and pledged to maximize the state’s resources for economic development.
Dr. Junaid Abbas, Group Chairman of Resident Cement Factory, applauded the Governor’s foresight and dedication to the development of Bauchi State, expressing gratitude for the warm reception.
Abbas said the partnership aims to establish a 10 million tons cement factory in Gwana district, Alkaleri local government area in collaboration with Sinoma Nigeria Company, a renowned Korean entity.
Added that the project worth $500 million is expected to create job opportunities for the teeming unemployed youth and contribute to the overall development of the state.
The Commissioner of Natural Resources, Muhammad Maiwada Bello, emphasized that this collaboration will harness the fortunes of Bauchi state for job creation and overall development.
Bello said this partnership is a significant step towards industrializing Bauchi State and diversifying its economy.
“The cement factory is expected to be a significant contributor to the state’s GDP and provide employment opportunities for the youth.”
