The Federal Fire Service (FFS) has expressed its desire for increased collaboration and synergy with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). During a courtesy visit to the Commander of the Makurdi Zonal Command of the EFCC on September 26, 2023, the Zonal Controller of the Federal Fire Service Zone A in Makurdi, Comptroller of Fire (CF) I.A Kurutsi, emphasized the importance of strengthening the existing relationship between the two agencies. He noted that both organizations have a history of collaborative efforts for the benefit of the nation.

Comptroller Kurutsi stated, “The relationship between our organizations has come a long way, so when I resumed office here, I felt this was an opportunity to familiarize myself with you and further strengthen the existing cordial relationship between the two agencies.”

During the visit, Comptroller Kurutsi also extended an invitation to the EFCC to participate in the upcoming ‘Fire Week Awareness’ event in the state. This event is designed to educate the public on how to respond in the event of a fire outbreak.

In response, Zonal Commander ACE1 Friday Ebelo expressed his gratitude for Comptroller Kurutsi’s visit. He emphasized the importance of safety and how it plays a crucial role in preventing mishaps. Zonal Commander Ebelo stressed that safety is everyone’s responsibility and that officers can only carry out their duties effectively when they are alive and secure.

Zonal Commander Ebelo acknowledged the robust relationship that exists between the EFCC and the Federal Fire Service and pledged to continue working to maintain and strengthen this collaboration.
