IPOB calls for Kanu’s release of amid health concerns

Pro-Biafran Group Raises Alarm Over Nnamdi Kanu's Detention and Deteriorating Health

Must read

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has issued a fervent plea to the Federal Government, urging the immediate release of its leader, Nnamdi Kanu, citing grave concerns over his deteriorating health while in detention.

In a statement released on Friday and signed by IPOB spokesman Emma Powerful, the group voiced its apprehensions regarding Kanu’s well-being, accusing the government and judiciary of orchestrating a perilous situation.

According to the statement, Kanu’s health has significantly declined during his prolonged detention, exacerbated by inadequate medical care and the use of experimental drugs by the Department of State Services (DSS).

Despite Kanu’s acquittal by the Appeal Court in Abuja, the Federal Government has purportedly neglected to release him, opting instead to perpetuate his incarceration through a corrupt legal system.

Powerful expressed grave concerns over Kanu’s fate, warning of dire consequences should any harm befall him while in custody. He emphasized Kanu’s innocence, asserting that his detention constitutes a grave injustice.

The statement underscores the intensifying tensions surrounding Kanu’s plight, with IPOB issuing a stark warning against further persecution of its leader and vowing to take decisive action to safeguard his well-being.
