The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has issued a cautionary statement urging Nigerians to exercise caution regarding candidates presenting printed result slips, emphasizing that the 2024 UTME results are not currently available in paper format. Dr. Fabian Benjamin, spokesperson for JAMB, underscored the importance of this information amidst reports of individuals circulating printed result slips on social media platforms.

In a statement released on Wednesday, Benjamin clarified that unlike last year, the 2024 UTME results cannot be found on the JAMB website. Instead, candidates are advised to utilize the official method of checking results by sending UTMERESULT to 55019 or 66019 from the phone number used during registration. Benjamin emphasized the necessity of ensuring that the SIM card is not subscribed to any data bundle.

Candidates are cautioned against visiting cybercafes or seeking assistance from third-party entities to check their results, with Benjamin emphasizing the importance of following the specified channel for result access. Furthermore, the public is advised to be wary of candidates presenting printed result slips, as these do not accurately reflect the current status of result availability.

While acknowledging that a significant number of candidates have successfully accessed their results through the official method, JAMB Registrar Prof. Ishaq Oloyede announced on Monday the release of the 2024 UTME results. However, he disclosed that the results of 64,624 candidates out of the 1,904,189 who sat for the examination have been withheld pending further investigation by the board.
