President Bola Tinubu and Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, expressed deep sorrow on Monday over the demise of acclaimed folklorist, dramatist, and playwright, Mr. Jimi Solanke, hailing him as one of Nigeria’s most distinguished creative talents.
Solanke, renowned for his iconic television program ‘Story Land’ aired on the Nigerian Television Authority, passed away on Monday morning at the age of 81, following a brief illness at his country home in Ipara Remo, Remo North Local Government Area of Ogun State. He had been battling health issues since December.
The lawmaker representing Remo North State Constituency, Dickson Awolaja, confirmed Solanke’s passing, describing it as a significant loss to Remo North and Ogun State.
