President Bola Tinubu has extended his heartfelt congratulations to Victor Osimhen, the dynamic forward of Nigeria’s Super Eagles, for securing the prestigious CAF 2023 Men’s Player of the Year award. In an equally celebratory tone, Tinubu lauded the exceptional achievements of Asisat Oshoala from Nigeria’s Super Falcons, who clinched the CAF Women’s Player of The Year for the sixth time, as well as Chiamaka Nnadozie, honored as the Woman Goalkeeper of the Year. The President also commended the Super Falcons for claiming the title of Women’s National Team of the Year.
The commendation was conveyed through a statement signed by Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, on Tuesday. President Tinubu praised the players for their stellar performances, both on the national and international fronts, recognizing them as sources of pride for the nation and an inspiration for aspiring footballers across the continent.
