Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, Chairman of Coronation Group, is honoured to participate as a distinguished speaker on the opening panel of the 2024 Africa CEO Forum. The panel, titled “At the Table or on the Menu? A Critical Moment to Shape a New Future for Africa,”. The Forum brings together prominent leaders, including His Excellency Paul Kagame, President of Rwanda, H.E Dr. William Ruto, President of Kenya, H.E. Filipe Jacinto, PRESIDENT, Republic of Mozambique and Makhtar Diop, Managing Director, IFC, to discuss pivotal strategies for Africa’s development.
The Africa CEO Forum, renowned as the continent’s premier business summit, attracts top executives, government officials, and industry experts to address pressing issues shaping Africa’s economic landscape. Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede’s participation underscores Coronation Group’s commitment to driving sustainable wealth creation and fostering prosperity across Africa.
During the welcome speech, His Excellency Paul Kagame emphasized the importance of collaboration between the public and private sectors in driving Africa’s development. He remarked, “The private sector in Africa plays a significant role in our trajectory. There is a need for the public and private sectors to work closely together. Our common challenges can be solved if we work together. The more united Africa is, the more productive our engagement with its partners will become. Integration of Africa’s business community is an opportunity to grow our market and become more competitive. Africa does not have to ask for a seat at the table, today, almost 20% of the world is Africa, by 2050, it will be 25%. As this figure increases, Africa will increasingly be one of the world’s economic engines. But to become truly prosperous, we must upgrade our mindset and aim for quality in our value chains. We cannot remain a place where people pull rocks out of the ground which others turn into high tech products and sell back to us. This may take a lot of time and effort, but Africa can do it!”
Reflecting on his participation, Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede stated, “I am honored to contribute to the discussions at the Africa CEO Forum, where leaders convene to chart a course for Africa’s future. Coronation Group is dedicated to leveraging its expertise and strategic partnerships to unlock new opportunities for growth and innovation across the continent. We are committed to driving transformative change and fostering meaningful dialogue that will shape Africa’s financial landscape.”
Speaking on the panel, Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede remarked, “Things have moved significantly; there is no longer one table. Today, whether as chefs or as organizers of tables, Africa is beginning to play a role as CEOs of some of these organizations. So, we have a seat, but the argument is – is the seat as high as that of others? We need to have our own tables. With our population and youth demographic, if we position these things in our favor, the tables that we command could become very influential. The youth table for the future of the world is Africa.”
The Africa CEO Forum serves as a platform for thought leadership, collaboration, and actionable strategies aimed at accelerating Africa’s economic progress. As Coronation Group continues to expand its footprint and drive innovation, the company remains steadfast in its mission to create a prosperous future for Africa and its people.
