The Bauchi State Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management honored five outstanding individuals for their remarkable dedication to community service and humanitarian engagements.

Speaking yesterday during a commemoration of World Humanitarian Day 2025 held in Bauchi, the Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Hon. Hajara Yakubu Wanka, said the recognition was aimed at appreciating the awardees’ selfless contributions to their communities.

She disclosed that two of the five honorees were identified through her popular Radio Enlightenment Programme, “Zuwa Da Kai Yafi Sako.”

Hon. Hajara further explained that she personally nominated the Ward Head of Gwallaga, Alhaji Dan’dada Ahmadu, as the overall awardee, citing his exceptional track record in community development.

The Ministry disbursed N2,650,000 in cash prizes to the honorees as part of the commemoration of this year’s World Humanitarian Day.

Other awardees include Mallam Isah Ladan Bagali—second place, N700,000; Babangida Gwabro Pelun Abba—third place, N500,000; Idris Muhammad Baba (Sarkin Gaisuwa of Teaching Hospital)—fourth place, N250,000; and Abdullahi Bayan Nitel—fifth place, N200,000.

The Commissioner urged them to remain committed to humanitarian causes and to continue supporting the administration of Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed.

Also speaking, the Special Adviser on Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, Alhaji Dan’ladi Muhammad, congratulated the awardees for their sacrifices and dedication.
