Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party has won 19 of the state’s 30 local government areas in Saturday’s governorship election, according to results announced during Sunday’s collation.

Adeleke is now awaiting the formal declaration of the result by the Independent National Electoral Commission, which is overseeing the collation of results.
The outcome puts the incumbent in a strong position as the electoral commission moves towards announcing the final result of the closely watched contest.
