SheGlows, a female mentoring scheme that cuts across the different cadres of telecommunications company Globacom, was unveiled on Friday in Lagos by the Executive Vice Chairman of the company, Mrs. Bella Disu.

Joining chief executives of corporate entities across the world in saluting the womenfolk in Nigeria and across the globe, she pledged Globacom’s commitment to the all-round well-being of women in its operations.

At the Mike Adenuga Headquarters of Globacom in Lagos, where the scheme was unveiled, Mrs. Disu emphasised the need for the female gender to take their rightful place as co-contributors to corporate and national development.

The initiative, which is in commemoration of 2024 International Women’s Day with the theme “Inspire Inclusion: Investing in Women, Accelerating Progress,” according to her, underlines Globacom’s desire to build, empower, and support the career growth and well-being of female employees in the company.

She said the day presented an opportunity for mentorship, continuous learning, and investment in women who are employed by Globacom.

“SheGlows was initiated to ensure that women in the management cadre mentor junior cadre women in the system to achieve their career objectives and life goals. We intend to inspire collaboration, conviviality, camaraderie, and bonding. We want women in business to be who they aspire to be while lending support to the advancement of the company,” Mrs. Disu noted.

She emphasized that SheGlows will empower women to hold their own in the spaces they occupy in life and at work, in addition to fostering a better life-work balance for them.
