The North East Elders and Youth Peoples Forum (NEEYPF) has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for reappointment of Mohammed Goni Alkali as managing-director/Chief Executive officer of North East Development Commission (NEDC).
The group in a press release issued by its chairman Alhaji Salihu Magaji and made available to journalists in Bauchi yesterday, said with this development Mr President has proven himself as a master strategist and a true Nigerian patriot whose interest is to build a Nigeria that works for all.
Magaji said, “The caliber of people just appointed by Mr. President especially quintessential leader who proven himself like Goni Alkali has proven what most of us already know about his ability to spot talent and reward hardworking.
“Members of our forum in the entire North East are happy that the President found our leader, mentor, and brother, workaholic, patriot Goni Alkali worthy of appointment as the Managing Director NEDC,” he said.
Magaji also said Mr Goni Alkali has over the years proven himself as realiable leader who cares about the welfare and wellbeing of the North East and Nigerians across the region and beyond.
The group assured Mr. President, Vice President Kashim Shettima that North East, Nigerians will benefit immensely from Goni’s wealth of experience, competence and commitment to national development.
“We are also confident that with calibre of technocrats like Goni Alkali who work tirelessly to improve the wellbeing of the citizenry Mr President will leave a legacy projects in the North East and Nigeria.”
While congratulating the reappointed MD, Magaji said Alkali as an achiever will continue to give examplary leadership, that will genuinely rebuild the North East region and beyond and will justify the confidence reposed on him through completion and execution of more viable projects that will redevelop the region.
He assured Alkali of continued support of all stakeholders in the region for him yo succeed, “We appeal to Nigerians to support the Federal government initiatives to transform the country and to continue to maintain the peace and be law abiding because the country belongs to all of us and we most not do anything to destroy it.”
