Zamfara Governor Bello Mattawalle has promised to bring to book the alleged attackers that disrupted the All Progressives Congress (APCs) presidential campaign in the State last Monday.
Addressing newsmen, the Governor said that the civilians in possession of Ak-47 rifles had ulterior motives, referring to them as ‘terrorists’.
He said: “I wonder what civilians could be doing with AK-47 rifles or other dangerous weapons if they are not terrorists,”
According to the Governor, he had ordered all security chiefs in the State to properly abide by the presidential order to shoot anybody caught with an AK-47 rifle or any dangerous weapon during campaigns.
The anti-thuggery committee established by the Zamfara State Government apprehended 35 alleged political thugs.
The Governor also warned political parties in the State to adhere to and abide by the rules.
