Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has delivered a stern message, declaring his intent to authorize the execution of anyone found guilty of providing information to bandits in the state.
During a visit to Tudun Bichi in Wasagu Chiefdom of Danko-Wasagu Local Government Area on Saturday, Governor Idris expressed deep concern over the recurring attacks by bandits and condemned the actions of informants facilitating these atrocities.
In a display of firm resolve, the governor emphasized his unwavering stance against such treachery, asserting that he would swiftly sign the death warrant of any convicted informant.
“The activities of informants defy all norms and religious doctrines. Just for a pittance, some miscreants will provide valuable information to bandits to perpetrate mayhem against their people,” Governor Idris declared, visibly angered by the betrayal.
He emphasized his commitment to providing robust support to security agencies, including logistical support, troop welfare, and other material requirements, to enhance combat readiness and operational effectiveness.
Acknowledging the pressing need for infrastructure development, Governor Idris accepted the request for the immediate rehabilitation of a three-kilometer road linking the village with Wasagu, which had become impassable due to a collapsed bridge.
Governor Idris’ unwavering stance against bandit informants underscores the gravity of the security situation in Kebbi State and reflects the urgent need for decisive action to combat criminal elements and protect the lives and property of citizens.
