NASENI Prioritises human capital development for global STI recognition, announces new communication approach

In a bid to transform the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) into a global Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) hub, the Executive Vice Chairman, Mr. Khalil Suleiman Halilu, underscores the importance of investing in human capital development. This revelation comes during a 5-day training session for information, new media, and protocol staff at the Exclusive Serene Hotel, Wuye, Abuja.

Halilu emphasized the significance of well-trained employees equipped with knowledge and technical skills essential for NASENI’s growth and technological advancement. He expressed his commitment to aligning with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and the administration’s Eight Priority Areas.

The NASENI boss highlighted the agency’s mission to drive Nigeria’s rapid industrialization through collaboration, creation, and commercialization, unveiling new partnerships for technological advancement. The 5-day training aimed at enhancing information and protocol staff’s skills aligns with NASENI’s strategy and partnerships.

The Coordinating Director, Engineering Infrastructure, Prof. Bagudu Dansheu Gwadangaji, urged staff to adapt to new media and protocol strategies for NASENI’s continued success. The Coordinating Director of Science Infrastructure, Prof. Umar Ibrahim Gaya, emphasized the relevance of combating fake news and misinformation in the era of rapid technological advancement.

Director of the Information, Protocol, and New Media Unit, Mr. Segun Ayeoyenikan, commended Halilu for prioritizing staff motivation and development. He emphasized the critical role of his department in projecting NASENI’s image, products, mission, and vision to stakeholders. The training, the first in 33 years, aligns with the agency’s commitment to building a 21st-century institution.

Ayeoyenikan urged participants to see the training as a call to duty, promising that the knowledge acquired would reposition NASENI as a leading agency in the Federal Government’s industrialization drive. Halilu’s vision for a globally recognized NASENI hinges on strategic corporate planning and optimal utilization of human and material resources.
