NDDC vows partnership with medical experts for flagship hospital in Port Harcourt

Managing Director pledges commitment to completing legacy projects, ensuring international standards

Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), announced plans for a strategic collaboration with medical experts to oversee the operations of its Regional Specialist Cardiovascular and Orthopedic Hospital, currently under construction in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Following an inspection of the hospital’s ongoing construction, Ogbuku expressed confidence in the project’s timely completion and the installation of state-of-the-art medical equipment by year-end, according to a statement released on Friday by the NDDC’s Corporate Affairs Director, Pius Ughakpoteni.

Accompanied by Executive Director of Projects, Victor Antai, and other agency directors, Ogbuku emphasized the facility’s adherence to international standards, affirming, “We need specialists who will work with us on this project.”

With a mandate from President Bola Tinubu to finalize all legacy projects in the Niger Delta region, Ogbuku reiterated the NDDC’s unwavering commitment to fulfilling its responsibilities.

He outlined plans for collaboration with specialists to ensure the hospital’s seamless operation, asserting the recruitment of individuals with international expertise to manage the facility.

Addressing longstanding concerns over abandoned projects in the Niger Delta, Ogbuku affirmed the NDDC Board’s determination to resolve such issues and move forward with impactful initiatives for the region’s benefit.
