The Northern Youths Association of Nigeria has expressed commendation for the commendable leadership and gallantry exhibited by Major General A. E. Abubakar, the General Officer Commanding the 3 Division/Commander Operation Safe Haven in Jos, for his unwavering efforts in restoring peace in Plateau State.

Ambassador Godiya T. Adams Bogoro, the President of the Youths Association, conveyed this appreciation in a press release issued in Bauchi on Sunday. He emphasized Major General Abubakar’s remarkable performance since being redeployed as the GOC 3 Division/Commander Operation Safe Haven in Plateau State.

In particular, Bogoro highlighted Major General Abubakar’s recent initiative in organizing a symposium for religious leaders in Plateau, recognizing their crucial role in fostering peace in society. He commended the general for significantly improving the civilian-military relationship in Plateau state and for his humanitarian efforts, including the donation of food items worth millions of naira to victims of insurgency in Mangu and parts of Riyom local government areas following a recent attack.

“The GOC has played a pivotal role in restoring peace to parts of the Plateau, and the Northern Youth Association of Nigeria takes great pride in Major General Abubakar,” stated Bogoro.

Expressing confidence in the leadership of Major General Abubakar, Bogoro pledged ongoing collaboration between the association and the military to sustain the relative peace prevailing in the state.

The association underscored Major General Abubakar’s commitment to the welfare of officers and men under his command, emphasizing his efforts to create an enabling environment for their operations. Notably, the GOC 3 Division, Jos/Commander Operation Safe Haven, has taken proactive steps to ensure the well-being of military personnel. This includes his recent action of personally escorting military officers injured in a bandit attack to the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) and covering the costs of their full medical treatment.

The Northern Youths Association of Nigeria’s commendation reinforces the acknowledgment of Major General Abubakar’s effective leadership and dedication to peacebuilding efforts in Plateau State. The partnership between the association and the military signals a collective commitment to maintaining and enhancing the current state of peace in the region.
