In the aftermath of his victorious verdict at the Court of Appeal, Abuja, Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris has assured the people of the state of his unwavering commitment to their welfare and development.
A media aide to the governor, Ahmed Idris, conveyed this assurance in a statement released in Birnin Kebbi on Friday. Governor Idris reportedly expressed his determination to uphold the responsibilities of his office and deliver tangible benefits to the citizens.
Addressing a crowd at the Government House gathered to celebrate his legal triumph, Governor Idris affirmed his readiness to implement meaningful developmental projects that directly impact the lives of the people, particularly the common man.
The governor acknowledged the impartiality of the judiciary, emphasizing that the Court of Appeal’s judgment reflected its independence and fairness, transcending tribal, political, or religious affiliations. He commended the judiciary for its thorough and commendable work, urging them to continue maintaining this standard for the greater good of the nation’s democracy.
Expressing gratitude to various stakeholders, including party leaders, legislators, executive members, youth and women groups, associations, and the people of Kebbi, Governor Idris assured that his victory marked the beginning of a new era for the state. He promised increased dividends of democracy and pledged that those who supported him would not regret their choice.
In a gesture of unity, Governor Idris extended an invitation to opposition parties, particularly the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), urging them to join hands with the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration in the state. He emphasized the importance of collective efforts to build a more vibrant and prosperous Kebbi for all.
